International Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Director Position Fill between now and early January (this position is not remote, and officed in the Chamber/CVB building)
Management Model A
Director | Full-time | Reports to Board of Directors via the Board Chair (by contract, or as Chamber employee)
- Director ensures the mission of the organization is upheld and is the primary spokesperson for the organization, (in collaboration with the Board of Directors chair).
- Responsibilities include: Develop meaningful relationships with business community, membership and other community key stakeholders, including organizations and local units of government. Membership retention and recruitment. Collaborate with members and Board of Directors to develop a program of work that is of benefit to the membership and ensure its implementation. Assume administrative duties, including bookkeeping and financial reporting through QuickBooks, fundraising, event/project planning, marketing, sponsorship recruitment, volunteer recruitment – including development and management of committees as needed.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is someone who desires to help the greater International Falls area thrive for the benefit of our business communities, organizations, government, fellow citizens, and visitors. The Director should possess good written and verbal communications skills, understand basic bookkeeping, be proficient at marketing and project/event planning, and be able to do community outreach – including engaging members, recruiting new members, interfacing with local units of government and other key stakeholders. The Executive Director should be comfortable with securing sponsorships, fundraising, public speaking, and securing volunteers to serve on various committees and projects.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree, or minimum two years of experience in related field.
Compensation: $22 to $30 per hour, depending upon qualifications and contract or employee status. Benefits negotiable, dependent upon contract or employee status.
Management Model B
Director | Part-time, 20 hours per week | Reports to Board of Directors via the Board Chair (by contract or as employee)

- Supervise and work closely with part-time Marketing Coordinator and part-time Event Coordinator to assist with marketing plans and event planning as needed. Event Coordinator will lead development of events and oversee implementation; and Marketing Coordinator will lead development of marketing plans and oversee implementation.
